Knit and Natter
An enthusiastic group of crafters has grown over recent years and is made up of ladies who can multi-task, knitting or crocheting and nattering all at the same time, and always with a cup of tea or coffee and some tasty treats!
This year the ladies have also been introduced to pottery using clay without a kiln. Tracey brought out our creativity and imagination in a hands-on way when she showed us how to make pinch pots with air dry clay, with varying degrees of success! A morning learning about decoupage appears to have grown into a cottage industry! Lots of beautiful items appeared in the following weeks ranging from decorated jars and cans to storage boxes. An Easter bonnet morning provided some fun and showed off talent and interpretation when it came to decorating and modelling!
Count has been lost of the number of little hats that have been knitted for the premature baby unit at the Ulster Hospital, and the knitting and crocheting of children’s beanie hats for our African children’s charity is ongoing.
Knit and Natter provides an opportunity for ladies to meet together in a relaxed setting to have a chat whilst working on their individual projects, to share tips, swap patterns and generally get to know and support each other better. The mornings together conclude with a short time of devotion.
All ladies keen on a cup of tea and a chat are very welcome to come and join in. An interest in needle work is a bonus but, who knows, you might even learn a new skill!
